Success! - Multiplayer working

Hi there folks!

Five days and numerous re-installations later the multiplayer part of the game is working now. At least it works for me, but everyone should try if you are able to play it too. Somehow it started to work today and i didn´t do anything to solve the problem.

I think EA / GameSpy finally found the problem or part of it and fixed it. I truly hope that all you who have been visiting this blog have now 100% working multiplayer.

I have to thank all the posters and commentators for participating this annoying issue we have faced with. I keep the blog alive for the backup if something new and interesting pops out. I hope you still visit site regularly to give comments, both negative and positive about this game.

If you are still having problems now it is time to update your punkbuster and enter your cd-key for the very last time. I think it actually works now!

Take care,

maxtuska

Tried that^. Do we have to reinstall and then enter the CD-Key 'one last time' or Crysis_Code. I did both, still doesn't work.

Oh, the problem still exists!?

I haven´t played the game because i got really really frustrated about this hassle i got when i bought and tried the game.

Actually i can´t say the exactly cure for this issue because the game just started working and i just did nothing.

But i suggest u to do reinstallation one more time. After un-installation repair your registry entries to make sure there is nothing which points to crysis.

The install the game with the code you have. If that don´t work then try one more time the crysis_code - thingie.

If that wont do the trick then i suggest you to contact to local EA or straight to headquarters. Surprisingly i noticed that they really try to help you.

Good luck!

IF 64bit VERSION
Open regedit (run->regedit).

Follow this path: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Electronic Arts\\Electronic Arts\\Crysis Wars\\ergc"

Double click "default" to edit the key.

Put a "-" (without the ") after every 4th character (example: 1ab2-cd34-e5f6-g78h).

Launch game and see if it worked.

IF 32bit VERSION, DO THE ABOVE AND THEN:

Basically, the registry key kept resetting to the dashless state when the 32bit version started, whereas it kept them with the 64bit version. I assume this is because the 32bit exe runs through Steam (unlike the 64bit), and therefore accesses the dashless key from Steam's section of the registry and rewrites the key we're concerned with.

So, my solution? Make the key Redvan mentions ("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Electronic Arts\\Electronic Arts\\Crysis Wars\\ergc") read-only on my account!

Start up regedit again and select the key.
Go to Edit-->Permissions.
Click your account and select Advanced
Click your account again and press the Edit button.
Now tick the Deny boxes for "Set Value", "Delete", "Write DAC", and "Write Owner". Not all of those are probably needed, but we're just being sure.
Click OK, OK, OK, and exit regedit
The game should connect properly now if you had the same issue as me!

i've done that and it's working
